I’m really curious. On the east coast of the USA, on the Jersey Shore or the rural area of Bucks County PA, Bed and Breakfasts are usually old Victorian homes with wrap around porches offering you a bed and a delicious western breakfast.
What do you get here? Please share your favorites and tell me if they children would be welcome.
Here they vary from some beautiful centuries old brick houses (such as on Kinmen) to modern simple tiled buildings. Rooms can be simple, with just a nice bed and TV and bathroom, or filled with curios and old furniture, and so on. Often they have yards and are in scenic areas. Mountainous areas have a load of them (as does the east coast) and often they are part of a farm. Quite often you can get some very good home cooking. Owners often are interesting people who have opened the B&B to get away from the rat race. Kids are always welcome.
I stayed in a nice one in Yilan. Newly built to look old, but very comfy and HUGE - mansion like. In Penghu stayed in one with a garden full of bonsais…

B&B means bed and breakfast not only in Taiwan but all over the world when it comes to hotels. It mainly means small hotels that allow overnight stay and give breakfast but offer no other meals. These are the small places with not more than 10 rooms for accommodation. These are ideal places for tourists who intend to explore more by just overnight stay and moving on to other location the next morning.
