What happens if you divorce on a JFRV ARC?

Not for me.

What happens if you get divorced whilst on a JFRV? Obviously the ARC gets cancelled, but how long do they give you to leave the country? The friend in question is leaving the country anyway in about a few days.

As I understand it, it’s like geting fired from an ARC-sponsoring gig. Once paperwork is finalized, you have 7 days to leave the country.

Of course, if you have your 5 years in, then you can apply for an APRC and control your own destiny.

Or you can renew your JFRV with another relative sponsoring it, such as a child.

It might be different based on nationality, but thought it was 30 days. ?

If your friend has chosen to leave, OK, but make it clear he or she has the choice to stay or go. First, they can just refuse to divorce until they get their paperwork in order. Say, APRC or visa through children. Alimony has to be negotiated before signing and should be in writing. Second, as said, after signing and visa cancellation, they only have a week.
