What if it wasn't just a service pact but a full-blown peace treaty with China?

What if it wasn’t just a service pact but a full-blown peace treaty with China?

How would the students or the people of Taiwan react, had the KMT legislators tried to force its passage?

What if Pepsi wasn’t a Coke?

What if the Sky was green?

What then?

So many what ifs?

Ma doesn’t have the backing to sign a peace deal with China, that was clear already, even by Ma.

Do we know for sure it isn’t?

What’s in the peace agreement? Or are people just going to oppose it without knowing squat about what it says, just like the trade agreement.

Taiwan and China are not at war. What are you blabbering about? Peace agreement? Would that mean Taiwan becoming a province of China, China letting Taiwan go and be indipendent or something else??

It’s true, they are aiming to sigh some type of ‘peace agreement’ in future, this would involve some political commitments and changes.

There might have been rioting by tens of thousands of people.

really? only tens of thousands? that’s not too bad… I would have thought MILLIONS of Taiwanese
would take up arms if such a peace agreement is secretly signed by the current KMT government
and forcibly passed in the legislature?

Not if the agreement is in Taiwan’s favor, or everything stays essentially the same. Again it’s pointless to discuss some hypothetical “peace agreement” without knowing it’s content. You’re just throwing out those two words and try to fear monger all over them which is what the DPP does best.
