Sounds like a mix of Amway, Scientology, and R. Kelly, with a copyright infringement thrown into the mix (Nexium, DOS). The obsession with destroying its enemies sounds very Scientology to me.
All MLM companies are cults. How else does one explain the weird behavior of members at their yearly congresses.

If each member has to pay a annual fee and will get rewards for getting more newbies to sign up for the annual fee then it might be.
One of my roommates long time ago was part of Scientology before he left. It’s pretty crazy stuff he told me how they would mentally abuse members in these sessions. They would basically trash them and yell at them the entire session and just break them down.
It’s not all bad. They bought a tropical island for the elite members to hang out on! 
I think it was around Fiji.

It doesn’t justify or excuse what she did, but at least she knew that she got off light because of her wealth and privilege and is helping other incarcerated people without those tools to find the courage to carry on.
