What is the main social media app in Taiwan?

Do people use WeChat there? A few people I’ve talked to say it’s not super popular in Taiwan. Is Line the main one people use or is everyone switching to Viber now? Or Whatsapp?

Line or whatsapp is what we cool kids use these days. Wechat is more like mainland.

Main social media app is Facebook. Line is the main communication app. We chat is used sometimes for people in China.

Facebook is by far the most popular social media app in Taiwan, and LINE rules the roost when it comes to messaging. No idea about how much of a following WhatsApp or WeChat have. I have a WhatsApp account but only used it until I learned that my WhatsApp friend was also on Facebook.
