A few people entered this club together using a red passport like ID instead of some type of Taiwan ID card. They opened it up and turned it to look at the ID information just like a passport.
It was easily acceptable when they held it up and compare the pictures with the actual person.
What is it?

Can it actually be the passport of some country?

It looks more like a gadget than a book. The new WEF/WHO ID, perhaps?
Seriously, sounds like just some national passort if they were all together.

If it looks like a passport then it’s probably a passport. Why would you think it’s something else?
A few countries around here that use red passports are Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

That’s what I was thinking.
But since a lot of people were using them I thought it might be some type of local ID like for the military or university or something. Thus, the ask.
Did they know one another? If so, they were probably traveling together. If not, then it would be a super weird coincidence.
