What movies are you watching (2022)

That’s Eastwood, right? Yeah, I like him as an actor. I just meant I’m not big on him as a person.

Yes he’s a very bad person. Hot (when he was young), but bad. John Wayne was the same.

I assume they were acting

I like some of the films he is in. Not many actors really impress me.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Alec Guinness, Faye Dunaway. Robert Carlyle. They impress me.

Tbf when they were channelling good looks few people cared about social justice.

No point cutting the scene. It’s a film, hopefully with a suitable age rating.

A great movie. Done with a superb ensemble cast that included Dame Maggie Smith when she was still hot. Guinness is great as the blind butler. I wouldn’t call it silly though as it’s too well written (Neil Simon) maybe more madcap.

Mind boggling! :person_facepalming:

Yeah, at least Hitler wasn’t a hypocrite or anything.

See Norm MacDonald: The comedian Patton Oswalt, he told me “I think the worst part of the (Bill) Cosby thing was the hypocrisy.” And I disagree. I thought it was the raping. It’s my feeling most rapists are hypocrites. You don’t meet many that go “I like raping and I know it’s not politically correct but, by god” and people go "well, he’s not being a hypocrite and that’s the worst part!

Love that Norm joke.

By the way. Do you have a dog house?

You underestimate how Nazi-themed humor was all the rage in the ‘60’s for a while. Springtime for Hitler has already been referenced: See Hogan’s Heros:

Don’t like John Wayne’s politics, and he had no connection to the airport- it was named in honour of his political stances, so no objections to renaming it.
OTOH, some of his movies were bad, but Stagecoach, Fort Apache, The Searchers, The Shootist, True Grit, were good, sometimes very good.
Good or bad, they should not be cancelled

I saw Megan Fox said she likes to watch the Harry Potter movies when it gets cold and is a good enough reason for me so I think I’m going to to queue those up for some upcoming cold nights.

It is known as fiction.

? This grammatical mark indicates a question.

Anyway, cancelling Clint Eastwood is out. The man is an absolute cinematic icon. And as for directing, Letters of Iwo Jima excuses a lot of 90+ years old opinions.

Apology accepted :joy:

I’m just wondering why when I search for the words pucker factor and this movie is it the top of the list.

The phrase Pucker Factor has history so why the hell a movie and a probably possibly second third rate No One Knows movie showing up at the top

The Whistlers.

Yeah, he definitely stuck up for the little guy in his directing.
