I was excited for it when I first saw the trailer. First time I’d been interested in something out of Hollywood for a while. Everything I saw after that kinda killed my enthusiasm for it, however.
I just watched it, absolute cinema, it’s a masterpiece. Right afterwards I was thinking damn they need a sequel, did some research and turns out the director is actually already planning one!
I decided to watch it after seeing this one scene, amazing, one of the best scenes in cinematic history.
Also just watched The Rip on Netflix, pretty good, very intense and suspenseful throughout. Nice lil twist at the end.
Had no idea about this movie, I just watched it per your recommendation. It was ayte, had very similar elements to Heat, which I just rewatched on Netflix a few weeks ago, and to which a sequel was just greenlit.

OK everyone, having seen this much-hyped “woke” film adapation of Ulysses, I now understand @bojack 's concerns about casting. Imagine drawing upon a classic text like that and not casting a single Irish actor!

The movie wasn’t woke. E Page was ok (Sinon’s life was sacrificed by Ulysses right after the opening credits, so died right away … but came back later, sigh). Don’t know why Nyong’o was cast but did read somewhere that Javier Bardem tried to shut down filming in Morocco because colonization. There’ll probably be a book.
Don’t know what Nolan was trying to do by abandoning image stabilization in many, if not most scenes. Between the overall nod to period lighting, the jittery action, and the quick cuts rarely could I follow the action. Did anybody even see the bowstring when the suitors tried to string Odysseus’s bow? I couldn’t even make out the bow. IMAX is not the place for that.
Although not German, I think I should watch the Pusher trilogy again. It’s been about 15 - 20 years already.
I have hundreds of non-English-speaking films I have downloaded over the years and have not watched yet. Probably won’t have the time to watch them in my lifetime.
