Underrated country music… - YouTube
If this doesn’t make you smile, either your name is Sting or you have a heart of stone. What a joy to see and hear!

Don’t know if I would go that far, but yeah, there are some really classic tunes by the Stranglers, for sure.
Nice except for the suona. I get its significance in the song, but the sound is so annoying.
Yeah I think it is an acquired taste I like the drumming and her voice.
Almost impossible to dislike!
And both of them gone…
It’s not so often you hear a rock’n’roll album so white hot you gotta go, “Yeah, baby.” This is as primo essence de garage as MC5 and I wondered why these guys weren’t as legendary as punk-era Replacements. Then I discovered that they suffered from early Rolling Stones LP syndrome - 75% of the songs are Nuggets covers, but performed at stun volume with such gusto that they blow away all of the originals (and yes, I researched the sources - most of the 60s versions are pretty tame). They do include 3 or 4 originals to “pad out” the LP the way “Tell Me” “padded out” the first Stones LP. This one’s probably the best of the non-covers.
My grandpa died at 50 of Type-A diabetes. A tough old 20-year career Marine sergeant (he lied about his age at 17 to get out of sharecropping in 1930s Arkansas). I only knew him barely when I was 3. Stationed at Clark - I’ve been there and saluted his legacy (he was briefly in a John Wayne movie). My grandma was a spry old lady, a bit bohemian as all are from the weird Hot Springs waters, played tennis and the horse races well into her 70s, and she had a lot of boyfriends well into her senior citizen years. I grew up around a few of them.
the song is so-so but your story is interesting. sorry I’m listening to it again now
