DRI upset the old Skool Punks when they released the album ‘Crossover’ in 1987, which mixed punk/hardcore with metal. They hated it. Thought they had ‘sold out’. Henry Rollins always got that term right - ‘You sell out when you do something you don’t want to do’. So, it was not a sell out.
