I just found this site upon searching randomly on google and realized that this could be of tremendous help to me since I have no idea on a lot of things around this city haha. Anyways I am an runner and after seeing how unsafe it is to run around in the city of Taoyuan (no sidewalks and scooters swerving left and right) I decided to ask the internet for help. Does anyone here know of a good place to run? I mean I guess I could just go to the elementary school nearby but that means my running time is limited to the open to public times of the school. I currently also have no personal transportation so that could provide to be a problem too. Anyways any help is appreciated. Thanks and gig 'em
Also plenty of organised events up and down the country, especially in the NW near you. 10ks, halfs, marathons.
They’re normally pretty well run ( ) and will get you out of Taoyuan for a day, my only beef is that some events close registration ridiculously early. So plan ahead.
Thanks to all the replies!! haha I’m thinking about training for a marathon so all that info really helps! Mainly right now I’m just looking for a place I can run to from home to train day to day. I think a family member mentioned tiger head mountain and after looking it up on google maps I am actually 2 miles away from jogging to it. I think I’ll do that. Guess just gotta watch out for cars since again there’s no sidewalks in this dang city. -_-
Glad I found this forum though! you guys are probably going to be seeing a lot of me in the future!
most of my family actually do live in Taipei lol It just so happened the one family member with an extra room I could move in with lives in Taoyuan -_-
after browsing around the map it seems like the river is actually about the same distance away from my house as it is to Tiger Head mountain. Guess I’ll have to plan some trips to see which route is better suited for jogging. Almost tempted to just take the bus to the path and then start my run
Oh, that’s just brilliant! :loco: Prime time for snakes from April to October. [/quote]
Huh? I never once saw a snake nor anything more dangerous than a snail on the lit, paved, elevated bicycle/running path.
