Was hiking near Jin Gua Shi (they’ve got a whole bunch of new trails open there, as well as a mining museum and some other cool stuff) up to an old abandoned Zen monastery behind the Crown Prince Chalet and noticed there are Sakura trees lining the path all the way up. Guessing it must be gorgeous when those babies bloom and would like to do the hike again at that time.
Early March.
Isn’t jinguashi great now? I was bowled over by how gorgeous the natural environment around the Gold Museum is. They did a great job keeping the sense of history in the place even as they made it accessible to tourism. But the mountains and the look over the bay really steal the show.
I don’t think much of the cherry trees in Taiwan. I prefer that area now that the Mang Cao (spelling?) flowers are blooming turning the mountainsides a soft yellow.
