Well, that was a big disappointment. Tried various different cooking temperatures, but simply couldn’t get them to cook all the way through without burning the outside. They looked superficially OK, but whatever I did, they remained stubbornly gooey in the middle.
Any good ideas?

Well, I don’t really eat carbs that often. I just occasionally get a craving for stuff like this. I might bake a small loaf like once a year, just for something to do. I’ll give the crumpets another go the next time I feel like some stodge and have sufficient motivation
