Where can I buy hot cereal in Taichung?

I’m looking for some hot cereal. I was thinking of Finga’s and Jason’s. I don’t have a Costco card, so that’s out, and I don’t want anything instant from Carrefour. Where else can I get some good-quality hot cereals? What brands are good? I’m open to suggestions.

I was thinking the same thing, what with it being thirteen sodding degrees in my place. I found this:

I’ll be off down to the supermarket tomorrow to buy a bag of oats, and probably some chocolate powder too :lick:

Slowrain,

Every single market, super market, and (probably) every organic foods store sells a variety of grains that can be cooked for hot cereal. Less common grains are quinoa, buckwheat, and amaranth that require more shopping around to be located, but the usual grains are available in all markets. The label may be mostly Chinese, but typically you will see the English name on the package.

If you can’t read the Chinese, just ask clerks until you find one whose English is up to the task.

Good luck!

I understand what you mean, but I did that before with some oatmeal and wasn’t really happy with the results. I’m being a little more cautious this time and looking for more specific suggestions and recommendations. I don’t want to do it on a trial and error basis.

So if I had a suggestion, it would not be on a trial and basis situation? Get real. Get your ass down to any decent market and get some Quakers if you want hot cereal. Or maybe some cornflakes from any market in some hot milk. I just do Not have a clue about what you arre asking for so, . . . sorry, I get irritated about “HOT” cereal.
