Actually, I appreciate someone brought this up, I still havent been let into the women’s forum and its nice to read about the deodorant issue…I brought as much as I could but now I am wondering…what do I do when I run out! eek!
If you cant find tampons, whispaa (I can read the Japanese on it, I dont really know how you’d say it in english or chinese for that matter) is a good brand. They have the infinity sign on the package. They’re a little weird but they’re alright.
What’s wrong with OB? I never had any problem with them.
I agree that Taiwanese should start using deodorants. I sat next to this young girl the other day in the MRT, and the smell was UNBELIEVABLE.
After dealing with a nasty infection once, I will never ever use OB again unless I can ALWAYS wash my hands with hot water first. I took them camping because saving space seemed like a great idea, but it didn’t work out so well. Since I’ve yet to find a single hand-washing sink in Taiwan that had any hot water, I am not going to use OB.
Maybe I’m paranoid, but I don’t want to deal with that agony again. Tampax, Playtex and the like are much easier to use without potentially infecting oneself with whatever cooties you have on your hands… and as much as I ridicule people who do it in the US (where there is nearly always proper hot water in the sink), I’ve started carrying around hand sanitizer gel.
There are just too many people here handling pets… kids… money… food… scooters… stuff on the MRT… and I spend too much time on the bus, in elevators/on escalators, on the MRT, etc. for me to feel like my hands are clean enough most of the time. Call me OCD, I can take it. :loco:
JuliaZ - I am sorry you had that experience, and after that, it is perfectly understandable why you don’t want to deal with them. I just (thank God) never had a problem with them, and in fact, I have never used a tampon with an applicator before.
The hand sanitizer gel is actually a great idea, and I am so happy that after the hole H1N1 issue they seem to have put them everywhere in Taipei. I am not a germ freak, but it’s always nice to be protected and to take extra precautions.
i’ve never used a tampon without an applicator… i just don’t trust myself to get it inside without damaging my female interior but my friend swears by OB so i’ll give it a shot one day, someday…
and i’ve used the ones from watsons (kira kira regular). it’s ok except on my 2nd night, i was having dinner and the tampon leaked so bad… only 3-4 hours after changing it too O.O disaster!!! but i guess the flow was too heavy during that time…
i hope they’ll start selling playtex slimfits here… my first and favorite!
if anyone is looking for tampax, i’ve got 2 sealed boxes of tampax pearl, super absorbent that i can sell… the applicator just won’t fit and i’ve wasted too many (3rd box) so i give up… =(
