I’m in the US. Is there any online source that can let me view the content of textbooks for guoyu for grades 1, 2, and so forth and then let me buy the paper or online version? I mean textbooks as used in local schools in Taiwan not directed at non native learners. Also would be interested in exercise books (練習本)。
In US, many weekend Chinese schools for ABCs use Taiwan text books. They are normally managed by volunteering parents. Try to find out if there is one local to you. The local Chinese newspaper will have news about their activities regularly. You can also call the nearest Taipei Economic & Cultural center and ask them about how to get those books, or how to contact the most well-known Chinese weekend school.
This is the website of one of the main publishers of school materials in Taiwan. Personally, I’m not thrilled with it, especially their English texts, but they seem to have a good grip on the market.

Here is the page to their online store. The books along the third row are the texts my kids are using in first grade:

Looks like the ship overseas. This is the freight policy:

That was exactly what I was looking for, the k9books site. Are your children required to get the textbook and the exercise book, what does the exercise book have? Fill in the blanks, matching, character practice…?
They get the text and the homework book (練習本). In addition, they have two blank books. One for practising writing characters and the other for writing sentences. Near the end of grade two, my son started writing short essays and poems based on the topic in the text. See if you can get hold of the teachers’ manual. My SIL recommended I get them because they have extra information and guides so you can help the children review. The texts are very basic and it’s hard to figure out exactly what the grammar point of the page is at times without the teaching materials.
Edit: I just checked the books from last semester and they also have a practice book from this company:

It covers characters, comprehension (choose the correct word from the list) and fill-in-the-gaps.
Many thanks.
Do anyone know if i can get them posted over here in AU ?
