Hi guys
I plan on collecting anime figures, namely the Portrait of Pirates series for the popular anime “One Piece”.
I am aware that there are many shops in the underground mall of Taipei main station but I was wondering if anyone had any better places(cheaper or more variety) to go. Also if you happen to know of any reliable websites were I could order them, that would be great.

Besides the underground mall at Taipei main station (which is, in fact, a lot cheaper than I was used to in Europe), you can try in Ximen, there are a couple of stores around. Some malls also have toy shops inside where they sell anime figures (Miramar, Taipei 101…) but I don’t know how different is the price.
Yep, Underground Taipei Mall and Ximen, one in Zhongshiao Tunghua, and assorted places around Taipei -mostly lucky finds. There is going to be a cosplay One Piece exhibition at Huashan soon -next weekend I think- you can check it out, maybe there are some finds.

WOW, the expo is next weekend? I was under the impression it was in July.
I haven’t tried looking around Ximen, might try this weekend.
So the figuers are a lot more expensive in Europe? Do you have a collection?
I get most of mine from the shops around fengchia in Taichung, a bit cheaper than Taipei and not too far for a day trip

Could you give me an idea as to how much cheaper please? Maybe an example of what you bought and how much compared to Taipei.

I know Wan Nian (Thousand Year) Department store in Ximending has a lot of anime figure stores on its 2nd-4th floors. I’m not sure if it will have the variety like the official One Piece store you have there, but it’s worth a look!
I haven’t been to Ximending in ages, but Wang Nian should be right next to the public parking garage.
I’ve never seen any of these places in Ximending…I need to go there and look!
