the subject is kinda explanatory. Costco: No; Jason’s: No; plz help me out. My eggs feel lonely.
Have you tried A1 sauce? I find it pretty close to HP sauce, a bit thinner though.
You tried CitySuper or Matsusei?
not at matsusei, which I find to be one of the better supermarkets. Where’s citysuper?
Sauces aren’t that hard to make, so if you can’t find it, give it a try!
HP Sauce has a malt vinegar base, blended with tomato, dates, tamarind extract, sweetener and spices.
For recipes, see e.g. jamieoliver.com/forum/viewto … 46#p246846
You can get malt vinegar at Jason’s and Breeze, corn syrup at Wellman’s, dried dates at Costco and other places, tamarind pulp at Indian grocers like Trinity, molasses at Wellman’s ([strike]which might, just might have HP sauce btw[/strike]), and so on. Have fun!
HP makes sauce … I was thinking they made PC’s and stuff
HP doesn’t make sauce. It makes sugar-laden, preservative-riddled gunk for discerning chavs and other assorted plebs all over Broken Britain. Lovely stuff!
Biggest one is at B2 in the green Sogo by Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT station citysuper.com.tw
It bears absolutely no resemblance to HP sauce, apart from the plagiarised packaging.

That sure is a lot of running around for a sauce, but it sure would be worth it. I’m gonna try citysuper first, tho. Thnx for all the feedback!
I think I saw some in Wellmans in Tianmu last time I was there. I’ll be in there area this week - do you want me to go in and check?

Now now, jimi, people are still welcome to post about other sources.
