I came to Taiwan a few years ago, working in the science park for a foriegn company. Last year, due to poor economy, I lot my job. I decided to stay in Taiwan.
Can anyone give me a website, agency, etc. that advertises jobs in the science parks or the tech industry here in Taiwan?
I believe that’s by far the best job board in Taiwan. That’s where I landed my terrific tech job. But it’s in Chinese, so if you can’t read Chinese, you should definitely ask someone who can to help you out.

Yeah, 104.com.tw
As Mother Theresa said, it’s all in Chinese, but don’t let that put you off if you can’t read or write (or speak) Chinese. I got my wife to put up my details, uploading my CV in English only, even in the part where it asked me to upload one in Chinese. I got several calls and landed a job pretty quickly. Best to be clear when you fill out the details that you can’t speak Chinese, or you’ll end up getting calls in that language.
You can also try 1111.com.tw … not as many as 104 but almost and some companies use this board instead/also. It’s not a problem to get a job offer usually if you have experience (it is easier to get a job here than the west I think), try to go through interviews and get salary and bonus info before picking one. If it is slow pick up something for the moment and keep on looking!
Remember Taiwanese companies should give you at least 13 mths standard pay and flexible performance yearly bonus (few months extra if lucky). Don’t forget!
Yes agreed, they usually omit this if they can as a way to clawback foreigners higher salary. Taiwanese companies are very hard to get a good deal from. But after negotiating the salary try to insist on your 13 mths as everybody else gets…worth a shot.
I got offered a 14 month salary, and it was one of the first things they mentioned with salary was discussed in the interview. I agree with the getting a good deal though.
What kind of tech job are you looking for? I would suggest going to a trade show, getting some contacts and gettign them to introduce you to whatever department in their company you are interested in.
Thanks to everyone for the good info! I’ll upload my C.V. to those sites mentioned.
My Chinese is only conversational, but my wife is a local, she’ll help me navigate the job sites.
Up to now, without any positive responses, I’ve been trying to land an ex-pat job. i.e. working for a foreign company on a long term assignment in Taiwan as they’re (generally) better pay. etc. than working for a local company.
My experience is directly related to the semi-conductor industry, and ion implant to be specific.
The semi-con industry in Taiwan is certainly not what it once was. I think China is holding the reins now. I’ve had two offers for work in China, but we have a little girl and my wife doesn’t think much of up uprooting and moving over there.
If your specialty is in ion implantation, there is only one place that you belong and that is at TSMC…your expertise can only be apperciated at a foundry…their website is in English, so you won’t have any problems checking it out…
You should update your CV regularly to keep it on the recent update list for employers. Applying directly for positions is also a good idea. You may also consider contacting ITRI, you could work with them temporarily if you like. You could also contact with smaller foreign companies to be their representative in Taiwan/China/Asia.
