We are going travelling to China and Vietnam in late October. We currently live in Taipei - does anyone know where we need to go to get a Vietnamese and a Chinese Visa? Can travel agents sort it out?

We can help you sort out your visa issues. Some travel agents do not to China Visas depending on your nationality because of the difficulty involved. We can do Chinese visas “pre-fly” for all nationalities, even the difficult ones like US and South Africa. However, it’ll take at least 10 business days.

China visa in HKG, Vietnam visa at the pseudo embassy here in Taipei.
I’m going to Hanoi tomorrow. Will kill two birds with one stone. Get the Vietnam visa in Taipei. Let a travel agent do it for you, don’t waste your time at the VN trade office. And get the China visa in Hanoi.
I will go directly to the China embassy tomorrow morning (65 Hoang Dieu Street) for the visa. Costs about 2,600NT for same day pick up or 1,200NT for the regular 4-day wait.
