Where did the first turkeys in Taiwan come from?

Turkeys are raised and eaten in Taiwan, AFAIK, in large quantities.

However, who brought the first ones into Taiwan and where did they come from?

Actually, it is an interesting question. Was it the army guys in Kaohsiung? Or even before?
