Where is this Indo-Chinese restaurant in Taipei?

I watched this on Taiwanplus youtube channel. But cannot find where the restaurant is located or any information about the restaurant.
Tried translate (laobingji) and search on google. But nothing relevant came up. But then I found this forum and thought someone might help.

This is the youtube video. Restaurant feature at 5:49

I would not recommend using Pinyin for searching things. It’s not supported.

An interesting report. And: chili chicken in Taipei!

I can’t wait to give that place a try. Closest MRT access point: Xingtian Temple Station on the Orange Line.

Thank you guys!
I spent half the weekend trying figure out where this place is by screenshoting and photo translation. I was gonna look up if there was a directory for restaurants in Taipei.
@afterspivak chilli chicken is what’s bringing me here.

I share your passion. Indo-Chinese food is seriously underrated!

Are you indian or just happen to have good taste.

Hahahaha just crazy about Indian food(s), as my posting here and there on this site will make clear. :yum:

I think Indochina refers to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia instead of Indian Chinese Fusion

That’s what the uninitiated always say.

Kudos to you though for your top-notch search skills. :bowing:

I dunno, Wikipedia seems to think otherwise.

Yes I am aware of that other usage too.

But it shall not stand in my way as I seek out gobi manchurian and chili chicken! :grandpa:

I think the issue is that Indochina and Indo-Chinese refer to different things and are not the same term

That’s correct!! 老炳記 is owned and operated by my friend and ex-neighbor from Kolkata, Anthony Liu, who’s also an overseas Indian Chinese. The place is located on 吉林路 224號. It’s a combination of Hong Kong, Hakka and Indo style dishes.

Indo China does actually refer to India and China…there was even a war fought in 1962 between India and China which was referred to as the Indo China War (or the Sino-Indian War)

Have you found gobi manchurian anywhere? I been looking for so long

Atithi on Heping East Road in Taipei City does veggie manchurian, although I admit I have not tried it.

I think the last time I ate this kind of food was in San Francisco . . . and also informally at Namaste Taiwan on Longqian Street (Shida night market) in Taipei City when the friendly owner cooks off the menu. :yum:

Thanks to you all, I had a wonderful dinner yesterday at this restaurant.
Adding pics to tempt you guys.
Both chilli chiken and egg fried rice were awesome. It reminds me of the Indo-chinese cuisine back home in India. You don’t get the legit flavor these days.
