Haven’t really looked for those particular models…but it looks like GoZLi (http://www.gozli.com/) has a Targus infra-red model. They might be able to point you to somewhere that has the ones your’re looking for
Unfortunately, it’s not so easy. I’ve been looking for one for my Pocket PC for 2 years, but no luck. Now that it’s an older model, there are only 1 or 2 websites anywhere selling them, and they won’t ship to Taiwan.
You’ve already seen the offerings at Nova and elsewhere. The best PDA/Pocket PC store I’ve found is the one near Guanghua market on Ba De - on the second floor, not far from 3C. Sorry I don’t know the exact address. But they didn’t have one for my model either.
My conclusion is anytime you get a PDA, cellphone, etc, get the accessories you need immediately before they disappear from the market.
The PalmOne Tungstens are nice. Of course, my favorite is still the Palm V. Guess I’m old fashioned like that.
I think Palm PDAs are heading downhill. Haven’t seen anything new out in a while, while lots of manufacturers make Pocket PC PDAs and come out with new models fairly often.
Yes, I tend to think the end is nigh for both PDAs and Pocket PCs. The Smart Phone with Windows Active Sync will be my next pseudo PPC. Having had my Casio for 2 years, I’m just not excited enough about the newer models to upgrade. But the Smart Phones (currently only one model sold in Taiwan - Mio, I think) look great. These bad boys combine standard PDA features, MP3, camera, phone, and even have a slot for SD cards.
But won’t PDA phones revive the PDA market? I am waiting until PDA phones come down in price before I get my very first PDA.
Surely a PDA phone is going to have better functionality than a smart phone (and a bigger screen)?
My ultimate PDA would be a PDAphone MP3 player. I don’t need a camera.
That was my initial thought, but recently, I’ve begun to see that a camera would be pretty useful for making pictoral notes, for remembering something funny, etc.
Well, PDA phones have been on the market for years, though I’m not sure if the add-ons to the Handspring and such ever worked in Taiwan with local networks.
The PDA fad here was REALLY short-lived. I think a lot of people found they hardly used the thing, and now is the time many of them should be looking for upgrades, but there aren’t too many models to choose from in Taiwan anymore, probably since the market hasn’t grown (I guess.). That and the prices here for PDAs have always been too high, IMO.
I was quite lucky - 3C was blowing out Cassiopeias. I got mine for 5,000 NT 2 years ago.
But pretty soon we may be talking about the same thing. It’s really a matter of semantics when PDAs become phones and phones become PDAs.
