Where to buy a good pancake griddle in Taipei?

I’ve been looking for a good quality square non-stick heavy duty griddle suitable for making pancakes. I’ve tried IKEA and Dayeh Takashimaya and come up empty. Anyone have ideas where I could look?

Is this going to be a griddle you place on the stove or an electric griddle? Electric griddles are readily available. Have you gone to Sogo or Shinkong to look in their cookware sections? The ridicuous trio of Shinkongs near Warner should have something in one of them.

the tienmu grocery and that baking store near shi da rd have odd pieces of western style cookware, worth a look if in area.

I am looking for a griddle for stove-top use, something like this one:

Today I tried Breeze Center and Sogo. The closest I got was some omellete pans, but even the big ones were a bit small and they have sides on them, which makes it hard to flip the pancakes. I will try Tienmou Grocery and Shinkong later. daltongang, could you tell me more about the ‘baking store near Shi-Da Rd.’ as I’ve never been in that area.

You could also try Hola.

Looks to me like something Costco might have. Saw a french-style cr

I believe that the “baking store” that DG has mentioned is called “Mami” store. If you are coming up Shi Da Road ffrom the intersection of Roosevelt and Shi Da Road (and an MRT exit) you will pass a Wellcome on your right. Keep going and it is down the first or second alley on your right (toward a small park and on the norht side of a wet market). If you’ve reached a rather large fruit store then you’ve gone too far.

Sorry don’t have the exact address or phone number, but perhaps it is somewhere in Forumosa.

I think that they might just have what you are looking for. Please let us know what you find and how things turn out.

yep, that’s what i meant. i think it’s the first alley after the welcome.

… and make me some pancakes!

Tried the Xinyi area today, Shinkong Mitsukoshi, New York, 101, and still struck out. You’d think Jason’s would think to sell griddles along with their big display of pancake mix. I’ll try the other suggestions later this week.

Link to location for Mami: [The Mami Store (is no more)

Mami Store 媽咪商店 No.6 Lane 117 Shi-Da Rd.

Struck out at Mami too, though they have an impressive selection of bakeware otherwise.

Well, problem solved, sortof. My dad has been bugging me about what to get me for my birthday and apparently my sister introduced him to my Amazon wish list. To make a short story even shorter, I’ll have a griddle soon.
