My personal favorite pizza place in Taipei and for others who are used to American style thin crust pizza. The lunch special consisting of soup/salad, pepperoni/vegetable pizza and ice tea had me coming back every week. It didn’t hurt that it was only NT$180. The owner is friendly and everyone speaks English.

Just wondering – how does Mary Jane’s pizza compare to Citizen Cain’s (if you’ve ever tried CC’s)? I’ve also never tried Alleycat’s, and I wonder if I should even bother since I’m wary of places foreigners rave about… Other pple here have mentioned that lately MJ’s pizza skimps on toppings and doesnt really fill you up…
I don’t know how to answer your question, being as I’m a foreigner, as are most of the other posters here.

“Where should I go for a pizza? I don’t trust you.”

I rave about Alleycat’s, so I guess you better not go there. Why not try Pizza Hut or Dominoes? I hate those ones.
ok… WTF. i didn’t mean to make you (or anyone else) defensive. I’m a foreigner too and I rave about The Diner constantly and I think it wholeheartedly deserves its popularity among locals and foreigners alike. However, IN MY VIEW there are a bunch of other places that need not be named (since you named a few of them already; well… I’ll also throw in Din Tai Feng) that foreigners gravitate to, but that I don’t think are awesome like, at all. I was hoping in a 1-on-1 question type deal, I would get a more discerning/frank answer. OK? you yourself briefly vent about “overrated” places in your original post.

my question, simplified, is: How does Mary Jane’s pizza compare to Citizen Cain’s, if you have tried it? I would appreciate your feedback.

and for the record, I love Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust supreme topping pizza. Yum.
