Where's the best Malaysian or Singaporean food?

Terrible place. Food took ages to come and at different times. I had finished before my partner received her meal. Food was average

This place in Xinyi is amazing https://m.facebook.com/malaysiangourmetcuisine/?locale2=zh_TW

I recommend this place near Technology Building: https://zh-tw.facebook.com/池先生-Kopitiam-274016432761128/

Looks good.

Tried it a year ago and thought just ok but maybe time to go back for another test.

The boss is a middle aged Malaysian Chinese woman, which is a good sign. I enjoyed it anyway

Two more Malaysian places I haven’t tried yet.

There is a new Singapore style Laksa place called Katong Laksa on second floor Taipei Main Train station near Starbucks. Don’t know if they are connected to a Singapore restaurant.

Not impressed with Mamak. Looks OK from outside but food was average

I know of 2 PappaRich Restaurants in Taipei and a Toastbox

Tried it. It’s OK, not bad, not great.

Huh. Full circle. When the second floor food court first opened up, there was a Singapore-Malay place, called Little Penang. Long gone. I wonder how long this place will last.

Actually, how IS that second floor food court these days? It had a decent international range when it first opened a decade back, but soon became localized, and I haven’t been up there in years.

Ootoya is a great Japanese chain, Ippudo is amazing Japanese Ramen, plus a few others. That area is one of my go to places recently as it’s recently become a place to always find something good. Not much Western food though.

Another One Bites the Dust.

Papparich Malaysian on Shimen Dadao near Dunhua Lu shuttering it’s doors and closing. I don’t know about the one at A9.

Only bland food survives in Taiwan.

Bland and ‘famous’.

And cheap.

Man,that place had huge lines when it opened

I went here tonight and you can tell if a restaurant is serious about Malaysian if they have no chopsticks but instead use a fork and a spoon in both hands when eating. They have a basic menu with some different Nasi Lemak and the couple Laksa.

The food was good and very fast. I will go back. At least reminds me of Malaysia and helps satisfy the craving.

Glad you liked it. I always get the Laksa when I go. My only complaint is since the chicken is precooked, when you bite into it, the inside may be cold.

For those near Banqiao:

Small local place with great Char Kuey Teow. Chicken rice. Chef (“Ko”) is from Penang.

Sometimes also has Ba Ku Teh.
