Which band most summed up the 80s?

I think it’s The Bangles for the USA and The Smiths for the UK.

Wrong decade. Keep up.

A-ha, you fell into my trap. I meant Gilbert and Sullivan from the 1880s. :teddy_bear:

What makes you think I wasn’t referring to the 1880s without an unnecessary apostrophe?

Christ on a velocipede. How many times can I spell apostophe wrong?

The Cult.

I think The Rolling Stones are in their 80’s, does that count?

For the U.S., it would have to be Prince for me.

Indeed

To be fair, I hate Madonna too.

I failed to make myself clear. I was looking for which band caught the spirit of the 80s.

Yeah, not technically a band. Prince was just one guy, although to be fair he could play every instrument in the band.

And every band member too.

As an unusual collaboration, this is no doubt out of bounds. But it was released in the early 1980s, and I challenge any forumosan to listen to this and not remember this bassline!
