I’m trying to choose whether to work towards doing the Taiwan TOP or the Mainland China HSK proficiency test.
My main reason for choosing HSK would be a more global recognition and although I want to read Traditional characters, I don’t really feel the need to write them by hand.
I don’t know how much the language/ accent etc varies. I’m assuming they both use standard modern Chinese as opposed to Taiwan or Beijing style.
I’ve seen the “Practical audio-visual Chinese” text book. Has anyone used the" New Practical Chinese Reader" text books for HSK?
Has anyone had experience with both?
