I hate Calendars.

Smashing Pumpkins on their last tour
U2
Our Lady Peace
Green Day
Saves The Day
Eve 6
Foo Fighters
P.O.D.
MXPX
Blink 182
Mighty Mighty Bosstones,
Ray Charles (before he died obviously, but I never saw Johnny Cash who I would much prefer)
Tragically Hip
Everclear
A Perfect Circle
Collective Soul
The Roots
Sloan
The Tea Party
Daniel Powter
Andrew WK
Black Eyed Peas
Jay-Z
Swollen Members
Coolio
Matthew Good
Elvis Costello
Primus
Treble Charger

I’d love to see:
Weezer, Beck, Radiohead, Oasis, Pearl Jam, Ben Harper, Kiss, the Stones, Tom Petty…this list could go on forever.
I’d say Dylan, but I’ve heard his recent live shows are unintelligible.
But I am a pretty big Dylan fan.

More to be added at a later date… It’s just getting way too late!

By far the best acts I have seen are:

Bob Dylan (pure bliss, except for one show where I walked out, cos he was dancing.)
Van Morrison. (He is a great performer.)
Janet Jackson. (She was surprisingly very very good.)
Beastie boys + Monkey Mark.
Gang Starr.
Rolf Harris. (Top geezer.)
The prodigy.

I saw the Prodigy once and was very impressed. I’m half-cut most of the time and might have seen Elvis at one point but may not have nticed. “Noticed”. Bloody laptops. Or “notebooks” as they are inexplicably called these days.

I’m very sure I don’t remember all the shows I’ve seen… but, here goes:

Grateful Dead (over 100 shows)
Jerry Garcia Band (multiple shows)
Bob Weir + Rob Wasserman
Hot Tuna
Jorma Kaukonen
Bob Dylan (multiple shows)
Eric Clapton (multiple shows)
CSNY (multiple shows)
Neil Young (multiple shows)
The Band
Richard Manuel + Rick Danko (My girl’s band opened for them and we all got stoned after the show)
Sandoz (multiple shows… not well-known… my girl’s band… they recorded a few on Relix Records… a Dead-related label)
Rusted Root (multiple shows)
Rolling Stones (multiple shows)
New Riders of the Purple Sage (multiple shows)
Rod Stewart
Traffic
Santana
BB King
Bobby Blues Bland
Guns N Roses + Metallica (I was the babysitter at that show)
Tom Petty
Clint Black
Leo Kottke
Lyle Lovett
Roy Buchanan
Foghat
Blue Oyster Cult
Cher
Aerosmith
Ted Nugent
Paul McCartney / Wings
Asleep at the Wheel
David Bromberg
Gordon Lightfoot
Sting
Allman Bros.
Don McLean (at an art festival)
John Mellencamp (free show at mkt sq. in Pittsburgh)
Black Sabbath + Van Halen
Culture Club (1982 or '83… at a club on Long Island… I thought, WTF? I didn’t know there was going to be live music, and it was odd)
Simon & Garfunkel
Bob Seger

OK, my brain hurts now. I can’t even remember who the opening acts were or any other shows… but, there were countless bluegrass festivals and local bands that I didn’t list. Love live music.

Some shows I’ve always wanted to see:

JJ Cale
Van Morrison
Rickie Lee Jones
Natalie Merchant
Michael Franks
Steely Dan
Anything Blues
Anything Dixieland Jazz

Too many to note.

The only band that I am still waiting to see is Sonic Youth. They are going to Japan in a few months, though.

In my list,I hope I can see U2 and Gun’z roses.

Added a few more now you’ve reminded me. The music is one of the only things I miss from the UK. Gigs, record shops, stuff life that.

Well, you did say ‘Jehova’.

Inxs
U2
Bob Dylan
Eric Clapton
Midnight Oil
TISM
Nick Cave
Beastie Boys (in Taipei)
Chemical Bros
Rolling Stones
Billy Joel
The Angels
Radio Birdman
Crowded House
Rage Against the Machine
Offspring (in the early days before they were crap)
PJ Harvey
Cruel Sea
Cheap Trick
Smashing Pumpkins

Plus a whole bunch of psy-trance and techno DJs.

Band/person I most wanted to see but never got the chance was Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I won’t list them all, but the best concert I’ve been to was Reggae on the River, a three-day, annual party on the beautiful Eel river in Humboldt County, Northern Cal., with lots of sunshine, good music and ganga. The year I went, bands included Burning Spear, Jimmy Cliff, Toots & the Maytals.

Saw the Stones in San Diego in 1982. That was a good show.

Only saw the Dead once and, unfortunately, I don’t remember much, for the obvious reasons.

Enjoyed Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Violent Femmes and Primus.

First concert ever, in 1978, was Earth Wind & Fire, Brothers Johnson and Heat Wave. I was one of the only whiteys there, but had a good time (went with my black and puerto rican buds from prep school).

Here are a few that come to mind:

Afghan Whigs (twice)
Pavement (twice)
The Grifters
Mule
The Dears

Elvis Costello

REM in taipei and Mudhoney
some huge grudge band in Taipei a wek after REM…hmm cant recall their name (pearl jam)
Bloody Basin Tremblers x3
and tons of smaller bands in bars and clubs who were great or seemed great

some more, but they have faded like charity does…sometimes

far too few IMHO

All in Taipei: Roxette, Erasure and Robbie Williams. I can tell you’re impressed.

Wow!

Irrespective of who is playing… there is nothing like a live concert and the atmosphere… wish there were more in Taiwan
