What degree? What do you mean by a 3rd party, is it something like edx?

So you can have multiple wives in South Australia?
Wait…they have to be backcountry Aussie sheilas? Uh…cheers, mate.
I just spent some time in Melbourne. I did not see any speedos but I did see quite a few pretty smartly dressed people. I also enjoyed shopping in Fitzroy where one of my favourite designers and their design team is headquartered.

My very fashionable colleague lives here!
I was just a lowly visitor. But I feel more fashionable simply by passing through!

They are both the same I heard.
An Aussie C- is basically equal to a Canadian A-
Snoop dog seems interested in them.
Can’t say I’m not that interested… I like them more like young 20s not mid 30s
I actually have graduate degrees from both countries, but I’m just one data point, with one university each. Probably it depends on the professor, the program, and the university. As a general rule, international students who pay more are not pushed as hard.
I got high marks in both degrees. I’d say the Australian courses were better structured, while the Canadian courses had higher level content. Like, an Aussie masters course was more elementary, while a Canadian masters course was conceptually more challenging. It was easier to have the structure from the Aussie courses, we definitely had less guidance in the Canadian courses which ironically the professors of education should have provided. In other words, the Aussies were better teachers for slower students, but the Canadians were better for more independent and critical thinking students. Still, weak students in the Canadian program were shuffled through the system; as a TA I was a bit disappointed, but I didnt TA in Oz so maybe the same. Definitely they push out a lot of international graduates. Easier to pass them than to fail them.
Both of my advanced degrees from faculties of education, btw. No Cs for me, but more A+ from Australia (they call them “High Distinction” IIRC).
But if I had studied different programs at different universities, I could have easily had different experiences. I think a sign of a decent education is knowing anecdotes aren’t the best way to reach a conclusion on this one
At my Canadian university they bell curved the classes to a C. They publish class averages and the average is always a C or D (50-69%) but never a B (engineering faculty wouldn’t allow it).
Maybe easier at universities that don’t bell curve? Some ivy leagues keep your grades confidential (i.e. Stanford MBA/GSB).
In my bachelors a C was considered average, yeah. Science, not education (a bachelors in education is a pretty sad piece of paper )

The difference seems pretty clear: Australian professors are hard-working, they teach, structure their courses, and guide students properly.
Canadian professors? From the way you described, they just hand out the material, offer little support, and pass students anyway. Doesn’t sound rigorous… sounds lazy.

Most of them were immigrants, one from Australia

This is highly dependent on the field of studies, the university, and the design of the program. Some Master’s degrees are first degrees in a field, others are advanced studies within a field.
With regard to grades it has been my experience, at least in my field, that higher grades are easier to come by at higher ranked universities. I think there must be some form of unconscious bias happening, where academics expect students at lower ranked universities to have to prove themselves (gatekeeping) or the reverse. But again this experience might vary dependent on the field of studies.

Uh huh
