I enjoy both MMA and boxing (to a certain degree) but I will never fork out for PPV to watch any of these fights. Maybe it’s just me.
Yean, but you might have forked out in the 90s when there were few channels. Now we have YouTube, streaming and just more content in general. The PPV model is broken.
In boxing right now, the PPV fighters are only really :
Canelo
Manny Pacquiao
Anthony Joshua (in the UK)
Tyson Fury
Big guys in the US can make much more money in the NFL or NBA now without getting their brains destroyed.
If there were still a wealth of American heavyweights then fans stateside would still be behind the sport. There is Deontay Wilder, but the problem with him is that he can’t really box
Maybe this guy?
I am not much into boxing. I was following it for a while because of the Klitschko brothers.
What are your thoughts on that era of boxing?
I’m not American and have way more genetic and cultural connection with Tyson Fury , but you Americans are really not giving the Alabama Slammer his credit. Come on and get behind your man one of the worst technical but most effective boxers in heavy weight history and he’s very appreciated in the UK. Yeah I know you going to say who.has he fought , Joshua ducked him, Fury didn’t. Come on you guys got something against Alabama. Totally unconventional fighter, but he will knock almost anyone TFO. Fury had Jesus pick him up.
Get behind your man

No brain damage in the NFL? I’ve just looked it up and it’s around the 99% mark.
The only man who can beat Tyson is himself.
I’ve seen that one:rofl:
I’m a huge fan of Deontay Wilder, and have been for a long time.
He’s still a very raw boxing talent imo. However, like the man said. It ain’t the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. Wilder has plenty of both.
True. More to the point you make more money in NFL.
Indeed. It’s not dissimilar to the dearth of great fast bowlers in West Indies cricket. The tall guys chose basketball instead.
Check out the sound of those elbow strikes from the Gypsy King. Till will be a good coach coming from a Muay Thai background who learned excellent take down defence. I think a couple of MMA fights with the Gypsy King would be huge. Not for the title but with some MMA fighters known for their stand up. Till is the man to teach him leg checks etc. Pointless putting him.against a good wrestler though as it would be boring. Perhaps modify the rules to limited ground time.

I wanna see Tyson Fury box. We had the boxing/MMA crossover already. But maybe I am in the minority
He’d lose at MMA.
I would pay a buck or ten to watch Fury make a high leg kick to somebody’s head. At least once, anyway. I would hope there’s a camera there to catch a closeup of what would surely be a memorably goofball smile on Fury’s face.
I reckon it would be like watching a fire ladder unfurl for like a minute before whack.
yeah don’t worry he’s not quitting boxing, he was doing some , world wrestling stuff last month, he just likes to try new things. Basically he is hoping Joshua wins his rematch so he can have a mega bucks domestic super fight with Joshua. He’s open to some MMA fights after that for his own interest (he doesn’t need the money). It wouldn’t be a boxing versus MMA thing , he just likes to fight.
Mike Tyson knocked out a HW with a jumping round house kick when he was in his prime. In a street fight.
They can do it, but not after the age of 30.
EDIT: This could be urban myth. He beat Mitch Green in a streetfight. Not sure if a kick was involved.
I saw the Darren Till thing when it came out. I think he is just messing about. There is no way that he has an MMA fight. Its not really interesting to me. I know how a boxer does in MMA and an MMA fighter does in boxing. Watching Fury fight with some fat regional circuit jobber with no wrestling base is not interesting to me.
