OP does not defend mediocre things in Taiwan. So, OP is not a long-term resident, if OP is white. or if OP thinks 5yr stay is enough to qualify for a long term expat, OP is not white. We can also know that OP is not an ABT.

In a previous life I was frontline staff at a bank. When the sun goes down the possibility of having a gun pointed at your money maker increases ten-fold. Even at 4:59 you’d get a couple of people coming in with multiple transactions to process. It’s for staff protection.
