Why doesn't Taiwan accept online master's & PhD degrees?

That Taipei Times article is quite the read. It’s a nice reminder of the “wild west” days in Taiwan.

Wonder if this scam artist ever posted on forumosa?

Exactly. It’s not online learning but rather the school running it. Suppose it will be a long time before Taiwan actually realizes education has long changed. British degrees are generally highly independent and well suited to online learning unlike Taiwan where the requirement of sitting in a physical seat and being spoon fed information is the norm.

A lot of education requires hands on experience. Such a lab work.

In my opinion, this will eventually all be farmed out to companies nd the quality will go to shit while the school makes a killing being the middle man. in many ways, it is already like this.

Being at the school with their millions of dollars, usd, in equipment should be beneficial. Otherwise education isnt worth a damn.

A case could be made for.math classes, language etc for not needing to be in a room all day listening and asking questions. but god forbid doctors and the like start getting online degrees.
