damn i wish i knew how to post an article from the Taiwan News.
just happened to be channel surfing through the the cable
gamut yesterday, when i came upon news coverage of an auto wreck.
- don’t mind looking at one i’m not involved in!
pieces were scattered, but there was enough left of a yellow
convertable for me to think, “say is that a …” and they zoomed in on
the prancing pony - ferrari!
reporting was in chinese (of which i know none) and although i couldn’t see
any pool of blood the driver would have needed the luck of the irish to
not have parts of him/her strewn about with pieces of the car.
they covered it with a grey tarp, i guess to prevent bird droppings
on the remains of an expensive car while they waited for a forklift
to scrape it onto a flatbed.
today in the paper (first sentence of article):
“A drunk driver ruined his Ferrari worth nearly NT$20million in a car crash
in Taipei city yesterday morning, but was unfazed by the accident, saying
he would simply buy himself another one.”
(last sentence)
“The damage done to his expensive car seemed to be the least of Lee’s
worries, as he said he would buy himself another Ferrari and still had
a Mercedes-Benz to drive.”
ain’t life grand
- well certainly for some…
