Why not just rename TPE to “Taipei Capital Airport” ???
(1) likely to p*ss off the communist bosses in Beijing, no? 
(2) satisfy “pan-Green” and independece-minded foiks in Taiwan
(3) “pan-Blue” folks probably wouldn’t mind
99.99% of foreign passengers arriving at TPE think they are arriving in Taipei.
I doubt any of them would know where Taoyuan really is… 
It’s an important question and I’m glad government and parliamentary time is being devoted to this most crucial of issues.
I am still very worried, however, that the issue of the National Turtle has not been fully resolved. I am sure the president will give it his fullest attention after he returns from his diplomatic tour of the downstairs toilet.

Why not return it to its original name - the name it had before it was named after a murdering thug and tyrrant?

I realize some have some “hero” references, but not much help in location departement.
You can allways land on the Charles-de-Gaulle, JFK, Francisco Sá Carneiro (this one is a mistery for the most of you) (just to say the most known ones)…
But it won’t be Taipei, because it’s damn too far away from Taipei… but Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is too hard to say fast…
maybe they should name it Taiwan Taoyaun Taipei International Airport…

The communists currently refer to TPE as Taoyuan International Airport, since CKS is still The Man Who Shall Not Be Named. Why would they object to Taiwan renaming their airport to what they already call it? Indeed, someone should use Tongyong pinyin-logic and say that Taoyuan International Airport is the worst possible name for the airport since that’s the name that China uses.

If you are referring to JhenJhu NaiCha, that would be pearl milk tea. JhenJhu means pearl and that is how it known locally in Taichung. As Taichung is where the drink was developed, I think Taichung retains naming rights.

I disagree. For example, “pearl milk tea” is meaningless codswallop in English. “Pearl”? “Milk tea”? Is there such a thing in your country as “milk tea”? Do people go “I’ll have a cappucino, Bob’ll have an espresso, and Dave wants a milk tea.” ? If so, then fine.
“Bubble tea” on the other hand, expresses immediately the very essence of zhenzhu naicha, which is a cup of cold tea with gelatin balls in it. It is also appropriately stupid.
We can table a legislative motion for the next session if you like and discuss this for months on end. That’s what I’d do anyway if I were president.
