The last few days, my Forumosa has gone widescreen. I mean the index/search pages, not just the psots themselves. That means I have to scroll the pages left to right.
It doesn’t seem to be any of my browser (Firefox) settings, and other sites are unaffected.
When I had this problem I went to the Firefox forums. I found that Firefox at that time implemented a strict definition of HTML whereas IE and lots of websites used non-standard HTML which had some kind of automatic wrapping in tables.
However, I haven’t had this problem with Forumosa for some months, both before and after switching to FF1.0, so I really don’t know whether the problem you’re experiencing is connected to this issue or not.

We need more specifics if it isn’t your browser. We had a major reboot this morning, which apparently went off without a hitch (or did it?). We needed to reboot because we upgraded certain installations – like new PHP, etc.
There were modifications over the weekend – which are documented in the dev blog. If you can trace back roughly when you went widescreen, we may be able to isolate the modification.
I use both FF and IE regularly (home and work, respectively). No widescreen problems for me.
Sometimes you get widescreens if there is a very long url (wider than the screen), which your blouser treats as a very long word with no spaces in it, it can only split where there is a space, not in the middle of a word, so it can’t split it so it all goes on one very long line, making you scroll sideways, if that happens I suggest the mod edits the link to a blah type link, that would fix the problem there.
It also occurs when someone is using chinese with no spaces in it, your blouser’s encoding is not set to chinese, again, the blouser just sees a whole load of characters with no spaces to use to split it. When it’s set to Chinese, it knows it can split between characters.
I’ve never seen what Bu was on about though. Some links would be helpful, nimrods.
Yes. The change didn’t happen when I updated. I didn’t change anything. Forumosa just changed (got wider).

Same for me.[/quote]
Same here. Driving me batshit.
For me it began before forumosa’s reboot. Probably been going on for a week, ten days. It seems to change back and forth from one day to the next, but I haven’t been able to figure out what it depends on. TaiwanHo is ok, and I haven’t noticed persistent problems at any other sites.
Once, last week, I rebooted and forumosa came back normal. This has not worked since, though.
People are still not giving links of where the problems are. “Doctor, I don’t feel well, cure me”. Think people, there must be something in common with the pages that don’t work, that they don’t have with pages that do work. :loco:
Could it be you have your blouser is set to a teeny tiny size and there’s a banner that is too big ?
What do you mean links, BFM. Every page is widescreen. Not just in threads where wide pictures or urls may affect it, but on the main index page, ‘new posts’ search results. EVERY PAGE.
Sorry, I can’t be more specific, but I only remember noticing it in the weekend.
I can’t find any size settings on Firefox, except for the text size, and anyway, I never changed the settings, and other sites such as Taiwan HO, don’t have this problem.
