Will March Come in Like a Lamb and Go out Like a Lion?

Or will it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb? any climatologists out there want to hazard a guess? Be sure and include statements that feature facts attributing your guess to “global warming” or “climate change” to support your view…

It has been the hottest March this year.

Here’s a picture of some cooling towers that give off steam and no pollutants nor CO2:

Shouldn’t that be March hare ?

Tainan has been lovely so far this March.
Cooling tonight with sunshine on the 'morrow.

Indeed it was lovely in February, too. Spent four wonderful days there basking in the warmth of the southern sun.

well, I think that it is important to keep track of whether March comes in like a lamb or a lion because of all the recent news that we have had about climate change. Gore just got awarded for a movie or something which told all about why March weather is so unpredictable. It never was before Bush was president and it has something to do with not ratifying Kyoto that is why the weather in America is especially unpredictable but the people there deserve it because they vote Republican.

It is quite interesting (to me) how much a topic such as this, one that should be essentially politically neutral, is split along conservative / liberal lines.

To wit, to conservatives March’s weather would neither prove nor disprove global warming, which is, of course, unproven, a part of the natural climate cycle of the earth, or another bunch of hogwash being trumpeted by liberals for such and such purpose, or…

While the liberals, for the most part, would see the weather in the coming month as more “evidence” of global warming put forward by some scientists.

Why is this so? Is it mere toeing of party lines and therefore sticking to your own party dogma, or does it go deeper?

Are the conservatives a more optimistic bunch? And would that make the liberals pessimists? Or is it the other way around?

Hmmmmm?

It seems UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon is unaware of the “Canute” theory of which you seem to support. Recently statements including,

and
Today, war continues to threaten countless men, women and children across the globe. It is the source of untold suffering and loss. And the majority of the UN’s work still focuses on preventing and ending conflict.
“But, the danger posed by war to all of humanity - and to our planet - is at least matched by the climate crisis and global warming,” he said. "I believe that the world has reached a critical stage in its efforts to exercise responsible environmental stewardship

the article also says
Last month the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change published a report showing a strong link between human activity and climate changeand warned that without action temperatures could rise by more than 6C by the end of the century.

A rise of 4C would be enough to wipe out hundreds of species, bring extreme food and water shortages in vulnerable countries and cause catastrophic floods that would displace hundreds of millions of people, it said.

who cares about other species? the lord gave us dominion over everything…

(where is the emoticon for irony when you need it? maybe a little picture of an iron would be nice)

NOAA says unusually warm in Nevada this march… a red state.

The only party that would have a dogma on this is the conservative one since the truth of global warming would render obsolete many of their cherished notions. If it turns out to be false, what have liberals lost?

Like most liberals I have no ideological stake in global warming being true. The same can’t be said of most conservatives.

Just imagine if GW is proven not to be happening. Will liberals go nuts? Or will they, like everyone else, sigh with relief that we averted disaster?

Yes…cooling off tonight…should kill off some of those pesky mosquitoes…bracing!

Phew.
:noway:

I think Fred Smith is right-here comes Global Cooling. Brrrr

Damn is it cold today. Does that mean Gore is wrong? or does it mean that Taipei is about to be flooded (immediately inundated?)

A concerned Fred Smith. Oh so worried about global warming, er climate change, er alternating weather patterns…

Chilly today…will it be Hot Tamale?

(Mexican weather forecast… :roflmao:)

Nice day!
Yep, and we’re going to pay for it too, mister. (Vermont weather forecast)

Well today we certainly know that March can be like a lion but is this the “beginning” of March so is the month coming in like a lion? and when it comes in like a lion does that mean it always leaves like a lamb or could it act like a lamb in the middle weeks but still go out like a lion? What does Al Gore think? Does he?

March has come in like a shivering wet rat, and after it catches pneumonia it will go out in a casket.

Does this count?

Score a point for you! You were the first to use “global warming” as being responsible for weather events! Come on everyone else! Let’s try a bit harder to get with the program.

MJB: 1
Rest: 0
Al Gore: A God with Vision who SEES things. Score: Incalculable!

It was analysis of data from previous months , not a prediction of next months weather, which is what you asked. Everything out the ordinary is now reported as a possible effect of Global warming.

I guess organizations like CEI must be feeling the cold shoulder after years of trying to tell everyone Climate change was just a good thing. The president of CEI was even quoted back in 1992 as saying
“Most of the indications right now are it looks pretty good. Warmer winters, warmer nights, no effects during the day because of clouding, sounds to me like we’re moving to a more benign planet, more rain, richer, easier productivity to agriculture”.
I’m sure soon even they will be regarded as having as much scientific sense as a scientific exploration for Big foot or the Loch Ness monster.
