Will Taiwan become like a post-Saddam Iraq?

On the contrary, they do. Their oath means loyalty to China. Here lies the conundrum.

Taiwan pays their bills. Yet they retire in China. And get another paycheck there as consultants.

As I explained in the other thread, not all military is affected nor it is such a big deal.

Moreover, as per China inherence, it is not the retireees that are causing the mess. Last time, it was the white wolf the little wolf and company. This time, again, pseudo alliances and association heads with orders to make a mess do not worry as we have lots of money to bail you out. Funny how certain party workers salaries were so delayed as access to funds was limited.

As to blaming US for training Marines, it is along the lines of blaming them for la Escuela de las Américas. Currently, as I also stated before, US does not care and has lost the position of head dog, either to interfere or help.

The old soldiers making more than 5 million a year will lose a few thousand ntd.

Ship those old soldiers off to Green Island, see how they like a taste of their own medicine. Why would you even pay them a pension? They should be arrested for sedition. _DSF1699

Would you also subject the members of “Taiwan Civil Government” to Nanjing Massacre treatment or incarceration in Guantanamo to give them a taste of their own medicine? The reality of Taiwan is that essentially any element of society gets to have their protest. Sometimes they are just crazy, sometimes they are crazy and violent. But who are you to limit the right to assembly and free speech? You are not even Taiwanese

Actually, nope. Not all protests are violent. I know, we enjoy them every day. Someone different venting their anger/opinion morning or afternoon.

Violence in the Legislature, for example, was justified or excused in the past because the opposition had little more than a voice and needed a show to gather some momentum.

But nowadays almost everyone - except foreign residents - have venues to express their grievances/ideas/opinions/feedback and have a chance to make them policy. That is one of the many reasons this level of violence is deplorable.

Then it is the eye for an eye makes the world blind and all that jazz. But most importantly is that most of Taiwanese society is integrated, new and old immigrants, and keeping on fighting the WWII is just a manipulation by elite groups so people lose focus on current issues and things remain with them on top doing dirty business.

The 3rd Taiwan Strait Crisis was well document, so was what happened after that.

The proper action to be taken after thwarting China’s invasion attempt would be immediately send the Secretary of State to Taiwan and then establish a diplomatic relation with Taiwan, thereby steering the course of history toward a peaceful regime change on the Chinese mainland by the Chinese people on the mainland. Instead, Bill Clinton was misled to give PRC a second chance.

Didn’t they earn their pension? If so leave em be, so a few are able to etch out another paycheck ?
So what.

They can walk around China and play soldier again so what.

Leave the old foggers alone. They only have their memories , what’s left of it.

Be thankful if one day you can be an old fogger too.

Getting another paycheck selling off Taiwan’s military secrets? Nope, not kosher.

They earned a decent pension, not a priviledged one that has become an unsustainable burden for the whole country.

If they were playing soldeier in China, that would be no problem. Problem is that they are playing soldier against us here in Taiwan.
