Dear people in the land of window ACs,

I got a portable AC for my rental property and it’s got that thing that connects to the window to let the exhaust out. Installation requires me to measure stuff and seal the window, which I don’t know how to do. What do you guys do? Should I hire someone? Or is it doable?

I have centralized AC, but my HVAC system had a refrigerant leak after only 7 years, and the heating still works but not the air conditioning. Fixing is damn expensive and I’m too pissed to get a new one.

For what it’s worth, we are moving our split unit to a new building. Needs new pipe and hose, 6500. Just for a basic reference.

It’s a large bedroom sized unit, nothing huge. I moved itb3byears ago and it was 3000… :grimacing: we shopped around. The copper and such is expensive as hell now.

It’s manageable solo! Just measure carefully and use foam seal strips.
