Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

I’m an avid iPhone, iPad, Apple, Macbook user, but my friends HTC Titan with Mango makes my iPhone look simple, unimaginative and lacking of integration. Thinking I might convert to Mango until iPhone 5 comes out then re-evaluate.

The interface is very nice.

It uses threads summing up Windows Live Messenger, Facebook chat, etc into the conversation. If you leave home chatting MSN, then start SMS or facebook on the bus, all the message appear in one thread. Can also have multiple group conversations.

It also integrates social networks like twitter, linked in, etc. And you can see what friends across social networks are doing in one place without clicking through the different applications.

don’t they have all that in iOS 5 now? However I like Windows Phone 7 as well but they don’t have Google Maps and Bing is more or less useless in Taiwan. I like the new Nokia Windows Phone though and the HTC radar is cool (all metal). I am going to buy an android as iPhone is too bloody expensive and I can have google maps and Sygic Taiwan navigation for android.

The “metro” interface in Win 7 is definitely cool and a refreshing departure from the iPhone and Android (which is largely modeled off iPhone) model. The main issue has been lack of developer traction on the platform meaning the latest apps will almost invariably be done for Windows Phone last, if at all.
