Has anyone noticed much in the way of women’s road bikes at Warehouse 185 ?
I am considering a trip down there as the store comes highly recommended, but want to make sure they have what I need (a great many Taipei stores have one or two frames, or none at all).
Edit: Yes, he has bikes, but they are niiice ones, and more likely to be my second one, once I am not such a rank beginner.
Having said that, there is a Giant women’s shop “Liv” on Dunhua Nan Rd, just south of the airport in SongShan, Taipei.
I am considering a Giant or a Louis Garneau, but wanted to have a look at Plasmatron’s place before dropping my change.
Here is what I am probably going for:
Primavera Festino
Shimano Tiagra components ( I’m told the 2012 Tiagra are pretty good, and the price seems right as I want 30 gears - to go from 20 gears to 30 with Shimano 105 is quite a price leap - the factory seems to sell the 105’s in sets that I would have to add to).
GP4000 tyres with Kevlar protection (23, not 25, but I am okay with that)
Coolstop breakpads
Skinny little handlebars for little shoulders
I looked at the Primavera women’s frames and had trouble with the graphics (roses?! Silhouettes of dancers?). No.
The Festino top tube length is only 0.5 cm longer. I figure with my ape- like arms and handlebar adjustment as needed, it shouldn’t be a problem. I hope.
( I realize dimensions are usually different for women, but when I asked Giant the differences btw men’s and women’s bikes, the tech started to explain to me that the women’s bikes have more pink… Sigh)
Giant Aimez 1 is still in the running, but the Primavera will probably win out.
Plasmatron suggested a Cannondale CAAD, but I can’t find my size
