I’m looking for a small macro for Word. My roommate said one of his classmates had it(but hasn’t seen the classmate in a while). It will show the pinyin for a Chinese character.
I’ve been able to find one for Firefox, but not Word.
I downloaded a program, “Wordfast” that was linked to on this forum. The post described it as a macro. I installed it and it’s a full program.
Word itself – or at least some versions of Word – has the feature built in. See Pinyin ruby characters.
But at the moment the best Word-associated Hanzi to Pinyin converter is H2P, which is commercial. A 30-day trial is free.
Wordfast – at least the one I’m familiar with – is a translation memory tool (computer assisted translation). It’s not Pinyin-ization. (It has also messed up all the computers I’ve ever installed it on (back in the day when I used PCs).)
