Hello everyone,
I am returning to MTC after a year back in “old country” and, having earned my bachelor’s degree, would like to teach English in Taiwan and study Chinese at the same time. Does anyone have experience doing this? I know it will be difficult to find the time to do both of these, but I am undeterred for the time being.
My question is: what would be the best way to enter Taiwan from the United States (the issuer of my passport) to both teach and work? MTC will set me up with a Visitor Visa for the length of the semester, however I will need to begin working right away, and will go to Taiwan around a month before the MTC semester begins (September 1st).
- Would it be better to enter on my visitor’s visa and then apply for a job (applying for a work permit and later ARC)? Is this even possible? Will this require me to leave the country?
If anyone could answer my questions, or at least point me in the right direction, I would be extremely grateful.
