I’d just like to nominate this as the worst news website in Taiwan, not based on the content, but rather on how awful their website is etaiwannews.com
Navigation is arse, the font is terrible to read and what’s with the background music?!

The Sunday edition is awesome – no piss-taking, honest. News of the Weird and a high school level crossword puzzle. A must-have for yours truly.
It’s damn hard to find any Taiwanese website that has good design.
They are affected with slow-loading Flash intros, automatically playing sound files, unneeded Java applets, confusing navigation, distracting animation, overly busy interfaces, and, all too often, if it’s an organization like a company, a charity or a school, lack an official English name anywhere on the site (a peeve of mine as a translator). Plus, all too often, they’re designed to run only in IE.
Bloody hell, there must have been some serious effort made in making that etaiwan news website so bad. That had got to be intentional.

The News of the Weird is in the Taipei Times. The Taiwan News (nee, The China News) has ceased printing as of a couple weeks ago. They shared the same crossword puzzle for awhile.
I like the background music, makes it seem like what I am reading is very important, and pisses off wifey who is trying to watch TV.
