Worst website in the world?

I challenge you to look at this:

immigration.govt.nz/Migrant/

website for the NZ Immigration Service and come up with information on residency and permanent residency for foreign spouses.

FUCK IT’S USELESS!

And they used to have a good site which listed everything clearly.

Knowing how things work in NZ, I bet they’ve spent 5 years employing various consultants and forming study groups to design a new website, and finally come up with this piece of shit which noone but the CEO and a few public relations people wanted.

Useless? I’ll show you USELESS!

You hereby get a C grade: must try harder :stuck_out_tongue:

If you are a partner of a New Zealand resident and wish to move to New Zealand to join your partner, you will need to apply for residence in New Zealand. Your partner must be a New Zealand citizen or resident, and be eligible to sponsor you.

About applying for residence under the Family (Partnership) Category

Hah! Looks promising doesn’t it Tetsuo, but none of those links actually lead anywhere. they jkust take you round in circles with great little links about “Is life in NZ suitable for me”. Nowhere does it actually tell you, about what residency permits provide, how long you have to wait before getting permanent residency etc. The old site provided all that information very clearly.

I tried again, but still coudln’t find anything. Maybe I’ll try one last time. following every single link in the chain.

Yes, the website is a ball breaker! I’ve lost some of my last remaining hair (on my head that is) courtesy of searching for info on that site.
Oh, but they have a link to lots of stuff on The Treaty of Waitangi - really useful. :wanker:

It’s the same with the Australian government sites. I think it’s the response to a major problem. If nobody needs the department, it’s terrible. They need a lot of phone calls and people working to show that they need more funding for next year. If you can just click and get the things you want, perhaps Joe Taxpayer will be overjoyed, but likely he won’t even notice. However, if the website is very nicely designed, Jane Receptionist will notice that her services might not be required. She will complain about that. The government being what it is may soon pass regulations to ensure that the internet does not interfere with the livelihood of the people employed by the government.

Resistance is futile. If you complain about the website, the government will simply refuse to pay more money for the website because it’s been unsuccessful.

Did you try looking at the actual (pdf) Guides? They at least look very detailed.

immigration.govt.nz/Migrant/ … tm?level=2

Those are just application forms. I finally got what I wanted from the ‘Operations Manual’ links.

My point is that this is the most useless fucking uninformative website (well for one that’s supposssed to inform anyway) I’ve ever seen, and a total waste of New Zealand taxpayer’s money (but yes it does look nice and have lots of stuff about the Treaty and handy hints on how to be a good Kiwi). NZ governemnt at its worst.
