Would you recommend getting braces in Taiwan? + Other related questions

One of my bottom molars is fubar (it’s 95% gone), but a few years ago, a dentist in Taichung somehow managed to create a filling that covers up the hole.

I think I want to remove the filling and what’s left of that molar and then get braces as soon as it heals so the rest of the teeth won’t shift around.

I know that getting braces isn’t covered by the NHI (the tooth extraction should be covered though), but I heard that it’s still cheaper and the quality of dental care here in Taiwan is generally good. So if anyone knows any good Orthodontist who can speak English (and is covered by the NHI), please let me know. I plan to extract the molar + get the braces at the same place/doctor so it’s easier.

I’m also planning to get lingual braces (they’re attached to the back of your teeth so they won’t be visible). If anyone thinks this is a bad idea, please let me know.

Why not?
Probably cheaper than in the U.S. or other places.
