Writing a book, starting from scratch

Thank you very much for your assistance. Will check them out.

The university type places can print easy stuff, bind and all that. But their quality is always crap. I have in the past printed brief magazine/journal type things through them, but when quality is required they retreat to broker status and oem with a proper factory. They are ok for catalogues, research papers, pamphlets etc. Anything more complicated they farm it out. But you asked about hardcover books…which essentially means more expensive because they last longer. Assuming you have researched things like ink chemistry, paper fibers/ph/reactions to environment and ink, your intended geographic marett and heir climate in relation to humidity and things like fungi etc. You can google, or check made in taiwan books and contact their sales teams. Although sales agents are generally pretty dumb (my experience with a couple publishing companies here as well as numerous friends and acquantenaces who have printed here) they hvae the basic information and anything they dont know they can either relay info.or relay contact info to people that do know what they are doing. In this case, its useful to contact either really small printing presses (that do everything themselves, aka very expensive) or very large ones that dont just serve as taiwans status quo middle.man type dealings. Middle men dont relay info at all. They tend to come accross as paranoid and secretive. They are easy to distinguish within 2 minutes of talking and/or 2 emails haha.
