I need an electronic writing tablet that will connect to a computer and dsplay on a big screen TV. I can get the PC to big screen cable - no problem. I really have no problem except I need some suggestions for the tablet that I can purchase locally (I hate 3C but I would use them in this situation). Anybody used one that they liked? Brand and where to purchase for immediate carry away? Thanks
The Wacom Graphire is still the old favorite, and you can purchase them inexpensively at 3C. There’s also the new Wacom Bamboo. I have two Graphire 4s, and they’re perfectly good for all my needs.
Thanks. I’ll go get one on Friday.
Wacom is the way to go. I have a Wacom intuos 3 professional but it is monster big ( 9x12 - a full A4 size large). What are you going to use it for, writing or drawing? The smaller tablets aren’t very comfortable for sketching or diagramming. The larger ones are very useful for illustrating or drawing and much smoother for making notes on the big screen during a presentation or meeting. Plus the larger ones are intuitive where the smaller ones take some getting used to. But the larger ones are bulkier to carry around.
Some things you should consider between tablets are:
Pressure Levels, Resolution, Maximum data rate, Accuracy, and Tilt range.
Again it depends on what you are going to use it for and what your budget is.
You can get a wide variety of tablets at GuanHua.
I bought the Wacom Intuous. When I first bought it I could write using the tablet and pen with MS Word. Shortly after, I had some PC hardware problems and had to re-install all my software. Everything seems to work OK but I can not get Word to let me free write using the tablet. The closest I can get is a free hand shape on “insert line”. Maybe I need to get some different software more geared toward writing tablets. I don’t mind spending a few more NT but this is getting expensive. All I am doing is assisting students with writing samples and, as was mentioned before, have the Wacom connected to my Big Screen with HDMI. Setting suggestions? Software suggestions? Freeware suggestions? Thanks.
