WW3 as seen by the Soviets

This is pretty creepy:

[quote]The nightmare of nuclear war in Europe - a spectre that haunted the world for half a century - stood revealed yesterday in terrible detail.

In a historic break with the past, Poland’s newly elected government threw open its top secret Warsaw Pact military archives - including a 1979 map revealing the Soviet bloc’s vision of a seven-day atomic holocaust between Nato and Warsaw Pact forces.

The defence minister, Radek Sikorsky, showed off the map at an emotional press conference.

that’s probably not one of the more meaningful things that will come out of that archive. they would have done such planning as a matter of course. one map from presumably many doesn’t mean very much.

Hell, in grade school they showed us videos of the entire East Coast of the USA being wiped out. And that was the Department of Education!

From which your idiot president obviosly played truant to avoid, how you say, “flunking” (?)

“obviously”

I bet Bush would’ve caught that error before hitting “submit,” or at least one of his aides would have. :bravo:

It’s American spelling…color, honor, flavor, obviosly.

Or Daddy Bush would have bought (sponsored) the Forumosa IP forum and we’d all have had to overlook it.

While managing to work in a slam of Jimmy Carter and praise of Maggie, the Telegraph somehow manages to ignore that this is a map of a Warsaw Pact response to an attack initiated by NATO- I guess the sequence 1,2,3… was too difficult to follow.
