This website www.englishquest.tw has a good spelling program for students to practice up on over 4,000 words, and for the new learners has a decent phonics program, it is good to use with students if you give regular spelling tests, as they can choose from a database and make their own tests, and save them…for repeat practice!!

Wow, that site looks really good. I’m sure that will be a really good tool for students in Taiwan. With all the money parents spend (and sometimes waste!) on their children’s English education, that site would be a great investment at a cheap membership price for all Taiwanese Students…
Why does this sound oddly like the two friends of the original poster putting a good word in for his site?
After reading the comments posted here I decided to visit the site. I registered and played around with the online lessons and games. I actually thought that they were pretty good and useful especially the spelling games. It’s free - sounds good!
And it’s great how this issue prompted you to register and post for the first time on Forumosa, isn’t it?

Honestly, have you really got nothing better to do than invent consipracy theories? Chineseandspanish.com is not a bad site either, a little sparse and the images take too long to load, but pretty nice over all. So, uh, does that make us friends now?
Personally, I think the site that David posted was pretty cool, and normally I’m not big on Flash sites. If I was teaching again, I could totally see myself sitting my kids down with it. One kid I taught before immediately comes to mind.
Ironlady, why don’t you just check out the site and see for yourself! It really is good. Just dismissing the opinions shared here really isn’t very fair. I’ve met one of the people involved in the site, but this only made my curiousity to see the site stronger.
It’s actually a very good site. I think that is just what this forum is for: Sharing tools and opinions to help teachers and their students.
Unfortunately, we often read a lot of negativity here.
A positive post about a great teaching tool like English Quest seems to me to be the entire point of this particular forum!
I think a lot of Taiwanese students are going to benefit from the site. I plan on letting all my students know about English Quest (makes for an useful and fun homework project!).
